Nintendo 64 console with controller and cables

Nintendo's 1996 cartridge console, still a strong seller with retro gamers. Bundles with a working controller, power supply and cables do best; a bare, dusty console sells for much less.

Estimated resale range (used)

$50 – $110

A ballpark, not a quote. Condition moves this number a lot, and so does who turns up to buy it. It isn't an appraisal and it isn't a dealer's offer.

What matters when you check it

  • Test with a game cartridge in the slot and check that the jumper pak or expansion pak cover is present on top.
  • Wiggle the analog stick on the controller; loose, floppy sticks are the usual sign of a worn-out pad.
  • Yellowed plastic, a missing expansion cover or a missing power supply all knock the price down noticeably.

Where the number comes from

Watching what these go for, not a record of sales. The range is a judgement call from what the same thing fetches secondhand. When an item has real sources behind it, they'll be printed here with the date they were checked.

Before you sell anything, look at sold prices rather than asking prices. Asking prices are wishes; sold prices are evidence.
