What matters when you check it
- Lift the grate and look into the bowl for rust-through, especially around the ash sweeper and the leg sockets.
- Work the cleaning sweeper to confirm the blades still move and are not rusted solid.
- Check the lid fits, the handle is intact, and whether the ash catcher pan and grate are included.
