Shure SM58 dynamic vocal microphone
The workhorse handheld vocal mic found in every band's gear bin. Used ones sell steadily because they are nearly indestructible; fakes are common, so buyers pay more for one with clear photos and a known history.
Estimated resale range (used)
$45 – $75
A ballpark, not a quote. Condition moves this number a lot, and so does who turns up to buy it. It isn't an appraisal and it isn't a dealer's offer.

What matters when you check it
- Check that the ball grille is not dented and unscrews cleanly, since crushed grilles are the usual sign of a hard life
- Test it through an amp or interface and note whether the XLR pins are straight and the body shows no cracks
- Serial number and 'Shure' moulding inside the grille help prove it is genuine rather than a copy
Where the number comes from
Watching what these go for, not a record of sales. The range is a judgement call from what the same thing fetches secondhand. When an item has real sources behind it, they'll be printed here with the date they were checked.
Before you sell anything, look at sold prices rather than asking prices. Asking prices are wishes; sold prices are evidence.
