L.L.Bean Baxter State Parka, men's large, navy
L.L.Bean's Baxter State is a down-filled winter parka that sells new for around $300, so used examples move quickly once the weather turns. Navy and black in mainstream sizes do best; a missing hood ruff, a broken zipper, or smoke smell is what kills the price.
Estimated resale range (used)
$70 – $130
A ballpark, not a quote. Condition moves this number a lot, and so does who turns up to buy it. It isn't an appraisal and it isn't a dealer's offer.

What matters when you check it
- Check the main zipper and any pit zips for smooth travel, and confirm the hood and its fur ruff are still attached.
- Look for down leaking at the seams and flat, clumped baffles; a badly washed parka is worth far less.
- Smell it — smoke or mildew is very hard to get out of a down parka and buyers will send it back.
Where the number comes from
Watching what these go for, not a record of sales. The range is a judgement call from what the same thing fetches secondhand. When an item has real sources behind it, they'll be printed here with the date they were checked.
Before you sell anything, look at sold prices rather than asking prices. Asking prices are wishes; sold prices are evidence.
