Hardy Boys hardcover books, 1960s, lot of 6
Hardy Boys hardcovers turn up in every attic and sell as lots rather than one at a time. Copies with dust jackets and the earlier blue or tweed bindings bring more; ex-library and water-damaged copies are the norm.
Estimated resale range (used)
$20 – $45
A ballpark, not a quote. Condition moves this number a lot, and so does who turns up to buy it. It isn't an appraisal and it isn't a dealer's offer.
What matters when you check it
- Check the copyright page and the title list inside each book to date it roughly before pricing the lot
- Note whether dust jackets are present, since jacketed copies are worth several times more than bare ones
- Look for ex-library stamps, water stains, loose hinges and crayon marks, and describe them honestly
Where the number comes from
Watching what these go for, not a record of sales. The range is a judgement call from what the same thing fetches secondhand. When an item has real sources behind it, they'll be printed here with the date they were checked.
Before you sell anything, look at sold prices rather than asking prices. Asking prices are wishes; sold prices are evidence.
