Dr. Martens 1460 boots, black leather, size 8
The classic eight-eyelet 1460 boot is a steady secondhand seller as long as the soles are not worn through. Made in England pairs and unusual colours fetch noticeably more than the standard black boot.
Estimated resale range (used)
$45 – $85
A ballpark, not a quote. Condition moves this number a lot, and so does who turns up to buy it. It isn't an appraisal and it isn't a dealer's offer.
What matters when you check it
- Check the sole for heel drag and cracks at the flex point; resoling costs more than most used pairs.
- Look inside the tongue for the size and any printed place of manufacture.
- Note scuffs and any cracking where the upper meets the sole, which is common on long-stored pairs.
Where the number comes from
Watching what these go for, not a record of sales. The range is a judgement call from what the same thing fetches secondhand. When an item has real sources behind it, they'll be printed here with the date they were checked.
Before you sell anything, look at sold prices rather than asking prices. Asking prices are wishes; sold prices are evidence.
